Obituary for Kenneth Anthony Mitchell.
Kenneth Anthony Mitchell affectionately known as “Scott” was born on February 9th, 1963, in Trinidad, to Catherine Mitchell and Alistair Abraham. He spent his formative years in Grenada, where he was lovingly raised by his grandmother alongside his siblings. Kenneth later returned to Trinidad where he began a career as a welder proudly working with the Department of Ministry of Works.
In 1987 Kenneth migrated to the United States where he found employment with two law firms as a clerk. Eight years ago, Kenneth was diagnosed with end stage renal disease and became a dialysis patient. Though his life changed significantly, he faced each hurdle with courage and perseverance. Three months ago, he received a kidney transplant, bringing renewed hope for a return to normalcy. Tragically, his life took an unexpected turn when his fistula ruptured, leading to his passing due to blood loss.
Kenneth was a devoted father, brother, uncle and friend. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He was a loving father to Chevon, Yolanda, Antonio and Darnel, with a special place in his heart for Darnel’s younger sister Zoe, whom he adored. He was also a proud grandfather to Zidane and Heaven.
Kenneth is survived by his siblings Cheryl, Winston, Leslyan, and husband Alozie Isaac, Everest, Maria, Marcus, Billy, Rawle, Tricia Ayanna, Afeisha, Shana, Anne Marie, Carol and Abraham. His love extended to his nieces and nephews, including Dominic, Ricardo and Natrisha, as well as numerous cousins and other relatives including Christine Mitchell, Claudette Christopher, and Randolph Charles. He was surrounded by a close circle of friends who will deeply miss him, including Desiree, Alma, Bernadette Colder, Chris Charles, Michael Colder and Bart Charles.
Kenneth’s sudden departure has left a profound void in the hearts of his family and friends. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Kenneth will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever remain alive in our hearts. His love for music, DJ ING, politics, sports and reading was boundless and he was always eager to share his knowledge with others. As we mourned this great loss, we asked the Lord to give us the strength to endure this difficult time and to comfort all those whose lives he touched.
